ICON plc, a leading Contract Research Organisation, employing approximately 13,500 employees across 97 offices in 38 countries, seeks an experienced and highly motivated Revenue Manager to join its Finance Department at its Leopardstown Global HQ.
  
This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of Ireland’s leading Plc’s and top 5 global CRO.
 
The Role
 
As Revenue Manager you will lead a team of revenue supervisors and their teams within ICON’s finance department, ensuring the development of an efficient and effective revenue team. You will be responsible for regularly liaising with multiple customer bases and leading the design and implementation of projects throughout ICON.
 
Role responsibilities include:
 
  • Lead all a team of supervisors and their direct reports, instilling a strong customer centric, “can do” culture within the team.
  • Responsible for design and establishment of appropriate interaction with all Global Business Services (“GBS”) customers and stakeholders across the organization.
  • Lead the design, implementation and future development, of a single global revenue team design across all business units and departments of ICON Plc.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of standardised global processes to recognise revenue in accordance with latest US GAAP & SEC requirements in compliance with the corporate reporting calendar.
  • Delivery of accurate departmental and regional revenue data in accordance with the corporate timetable together with a comprehensive analysis for efficient senior GBS management review.
  • Calculation and completion of forecasted revenue by department and in accordance with corporate timetable, with comprehensive analysis for efficient senior GBS management review.
  • Delivery of all required audit (both internal and external) documentation and ensuring full and effective compliance with SoX requirements.
  • Management of reporting to GBS customers and resolution of queries in an efficient and systematic fashion.
  • Develop a close and efficient relationship with the Revenue Risk team, ensure productive input and relevant escalation for their consideration.
  • Responsible for implementation of a team structure and process design delivering a standardised revenue recognition process which is both scalable and can be readily deployed across departments, business units, and new acquisitions to deliver an effective and efficient revenue recognition measurement process.
  • Mentor and develop direct reports, as well as wider team through the direct reports.
  • Manage, develop & strengthen the directly reporting Supervisors.
 
Experience & Knowledge Requirements:
 
  • Qualified Accountant – ACA / ACCA/ CPA/ CIMA
  • Prior experience of shared services and/or management of a diverse multiple customer base.
  • Prior experience of team management and development, preferably including management of staff located in remote offices, multiple and diverse customer base as well as multi-layer management.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP / SEC Requirements.
  • Oracle Financials, Revenue recognition experience desirable but not a pre requisite
