Job Title:             Scientific Affairs Specialist II
Location:             (Please mention location)
Duration:             12 Month Contract  Role
 

 Job Description
 
  • Populate and update Test Master Information.
  • Assist all other ICL departments with Global Scientific Affairs (GSA} related issues and questions received through the SA In-box.
  • Lead the GSA group with locating and interacting with all referral labs; to include lab certification, Master Services Agreements and Statement of Work Documentation generation and execution and generation of database for GSA and other ICL department to utilize for referral lab management.
  • Coordinate and generate performance metrics on referral labs performance.
  • Follow-up with post award issues that move from the initial pre-protocol review through to Scientific Affairs In-box to close the loop for the full Global SA processes; including contacting referral labs and GVD as necessary.
  • Coordinate efforts for reference tools to obtain technical  information for new assays as well as obtaining package inserts, pricing, etc from internal resources for new in-house assay validation efforts.
  • Assist with training and cross training of more junior members of GSA to include Specialist Is and Project Coodinators.
  • Utilize the internet, journals, internal validation documentation, etc to update specimen requirements, stability, and transport information within departmental databases.
  • Follow SOPs relevant to Global Scientific Affairs issues.
  • Attend meetings with both internal and external clients on behalf of Global Scientific Affairs.
  • Provide notifications and technical documentation to the Global Validation Department and ultimately Global Client Services.
  • Maintain CLSI documents library.
  • Performs additional relevant responsibilities as requested by management.

  • Travel (approximately 10%) domestic and/or international
 
Qualification:
  • BS Degree in Medical Technology, preferred.
  • More than 7 years relevant experience*
  • Knowledge of clinical laboratory concepts and terminology.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • An alternative combination of experience, education and training determined by management to be equivalent to the foregoing.
