The role:

-Collaborate with account and other staff as needed to develop content strategies that support patient recruitment/research objectives across the product lifestyle.

-Participate in the ideation and development of multi-channel tactical solutions.

-Translate clinical data into compelling participant messaging for recruitment materials.

-Take charge of the copy from manuscript to execution, working closely with freelance contractors and art directors to develop layouts to ensure complete accuracy and compliance with client guidelines, the ICF, and clinical protocols.

-Provide strategic rationale when presenting and defending content, while remaining open to alternative explorations and feedback.

-Participate in client review and approval process as needed/necessary.

-Stay up-to-date on disease state/therapeutic area.

-Uphold internal processes, procedures, and project timelines.

-Appropriately address copy comments as received and offer options and alternative solutions when making revisions. Communicate solutions in a timely and effectively manner to avoid workflow disruptions. 

-Manage multiple assignments by establishing procedures to developing multiple versions of components. Maintain files in an identifiable, organized fashion on the file server. 

-Keep team members apprised of project status, taking a proactive stance by raising any issues that affect the schedule or other parameters of the project. 

-Ensure project information is quickly accessible while maintaining detailed notes and organized project files. 

-Work closely with the account team assigned to each project to maximize communication, clarify goals and specific project parameters and achieve desired results. 

-Be prepared to engage in discussions with account team(s) and client(s) to establish content strategy and to communicate copy vision once content development is started/refined/completed.

-Handle requests for content support by effectively evaluating the ask/creative brief and identifying an appropriate resource based on project type and required skillsets.

-Manage content contractors and vendors; and bench through relationship management and sound decision making, ensure appropriate removals or additions based on experience, team feedback, and needs.

-Oversee all copywriting for patient recruitment materials.

-Manage new hire onboarding and direct mentorship of new copywriters.

-Take a lead role in content team status meetings to evaluate workload, share learnings, and identify needs and potential solutions.

-Develop and maintain positive, productive relationships with other leaders and team members of client engagement, editorial, creative, digital, and research teams. 

-Demonstrate exceptional writing abilities while keeping the audience and type of deliverable in mind.

-Attention to details and ensuring consistency across all materials.


We are looking for:

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a science, patient recruitment/research, communications, journalism, public health, or related field.    Advanced degree (MBA, MPH, PharmD) is a plus.

Minimum of 3 years of healthcare or pharmaceutical patient recruitment experience
