The (Senior) Director of Product Innovation works with business and
IT partners to evaluate and progress informatics initiatives toward full
benefit realisation. The role requires solid client management relationship
skills, creative and conceptual thinking, a strong analytics and scientific
focus and a good grasp of the clinical trial industry.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop relationships with clients and partners to pursue opportunities to collaborate and co-create new systems and processes.
- Actively pursue participation in industry organizations to stay on top of current thinking and to influence new developments from a regulatory and scientific point of view.
- Represent ICON Innovation at industry events and publish in relevant industry publications and conferences.
- Take ownership of product development initiatives to ensure benefits realization, usability and architectural alignment.
- Use a hypothesis-driven approach to product development that is based on market data, user research, analytics and experimentation.
- Identify and analyze gaps in data access, relationships, lineage or tools in response to business requests to perform novel information analyses that advance business portfolios or opportunities.
- Promote open collaboration and communication across the company and spearhead collaborative initiatives with partner groups to improve solution design, development and benefit realization.
- Develop business cases, pilots and proofs of concept for new product ideas.
- Work with IT and business partners to evolve and prioritize an enterprise data and informatics strategy.
- Support agile and iterative development processes, collaborating with business stakeholders, enterprise architects and developers to deliver new product initiatives in an accurate manner, to timescales and in accordance with governance requirements..
- Provide leadership and advice on all aspects of Innovation initiatives to clinical and nonclinical partners.
- Support business development in the promotion of informatics products to sponsors.

- Travel (approximately 25%) domestic and/or international.
Supervision
- Lead and develop Innovation and development teams as needed to deliver best-practice product development across the IT project portfolio.
- Act as solution analysis manager for multiple concurrent projects.
- Mentor colleagues and team members on Product Management and Business skills.
- Complete performance appraisals and recommend compensation and promotion as required.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Professional and personable approach combined with flexibility, creativity and energy in taking initiatives and assuming responsibility
- Deep knowledge in eCOA principles and 5 years experience in a scientific role at a pharma company or an eCOA vendor
- Working knowledge of SAS or SPSS or R to support small projects with statistical services
- Excellent commercial, negotiation and client relationship management skills, with a proven track record in building working relationships with both business and IT partners.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities combined with a high degree of conceptual thinking and strong analytical and quantitative abilities.
- Strong organizational skills and an ability to set priorities appropriately when managing several projects at the same time,
- Verbal and written communication expertise and excellent presentation skills.
- Self-starter willing and able to wear many hats and work at all levels of detail to gets things done.
- Highly collaborative, pragmatic and diplomatic.
- Solid understanding of health informatics methodologies and clinical research lifecycle.
- Proven experience as a manager, coach and mentor leading and working in teams that exceed targets and embrace a high performance culture and commitment to continuous improvement.

- EU/APAC: Expert analyst with comprehensive experience as a manager or equivalent leadership experience.
