Senior Manager - Direct Patient Contact

Location: Remote-based, Europe

Summary:
Responsible for managing, organizing, and  implementing  projects  within the Direct to  Patient Contact (DPC) department and leading project team and external resources teams throughout the study,  while complying  with  the deadlines,  budgets, quality and regulatory requirements  defined for each project. The Senior DPC Manager also participates in the development of Request for proposals and strategic client meetings. Serves as People Leader for assigned areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, lead, and manage assigned projects
  • Write and update as appropriate a specific quality plan for the direct to patient contact activities
  • Ensure the preparation and coordination of documents specific to the direct to patient activities
  • Ensure or conducts administrative activities as a member of the project team
  • Participate  in  study training  programs  and organize  training  for  appropriate  resources  involved (interviewers, call centers, SMAs, etc.)
  • Set up, maintain and manage the archiving of the study master file related to DPC activity
  • Manage goals, budget,  resources,  utilization rates,  timelines, financial expenditures,  and metrics related to DPC activity
  • Identify resources needs for the direct to patient contact activities and ensure adequate training is provided
  • Assist in defining team goals with delegation of responsibility and accountability among project team members within the direct to patient contact department.   Effectively  interface with team members to insure that all are working well with the tasks they have been allocated
  • Proactively  participate  in  the  maintenance  and development  of  quality  assurance system for the direct to patient contact department
  • Demonstrate principles of quality throughout the project
  • Communicate,  present effectively,  and work well with  all team members, functional  management, and the client's project team: one-on-one, meetings, facilitation, motivating, problem solving, status reporting, handling criticism or conflict, and delegating
  • May be identified  as 'Project  Manager' for Direct to Patient Contact stand-alone  projects. Activities when the DPCM acts as a project manager:
  • Act as the liaison between ICON and sponsor representatives for assigned studies
  • Prepare  and  analyze  periodic  status  reports  to  compare   project  forecasts   to  actual:  timelines, budget using dedicated tools
  • Participate  in the change in  scope process ensuring timely communication  of financial  and timeline impact
  • Assist  in  business development  support  for proposals,  conferences,  capabilities  presentations,  bid defences and other opportunities as needed
  • Assist  in  coaching,  mentoring  and developing  junior employees  to take  responsibility for their jobs and goals. Monitor development,  implementation and adherence  to project plans/quality plans.
  • Completing  other  appropriate  duties,  as assigned  by the  manager,  which  require  similar  skills  in accordance  with business needs .
  • People Leader to assigned areas. Line management of dedicated team of DPC Assistants and Associates.
