Manager, Solutions Architect (clinical study design feasibility)

We are currently seeking a Senior Manager, Solutions Architect to join our diverse and dynamic team. As a Senior Manager, Solutions Architect at ICON, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing innovative solutions for clinical trials, contributing to the advancement of healthcare and medical research.

What you will be doing

• Participates to the delivery high quality client-focused proposals, budgets and client grids for new business opportunities within given timeframe
• Adhere to the proposal process
• Evaluate and understand client requirements for incoming Request for Proposals (RFPs) and provide operations and proposals teams with an architectural frame for budget design that is competitive and that supports the overall strategy
• Provides strategic input in the preparation, review and submission of proposals and budgets for new business opportunities within given timeframe
  Leads the Operations and Proposal Development Associates throughout the strategic components of proposal generation process including attending the proposal kick off, clinical strategy and other opportunity specific meetings as required
• Proactively engage the appropriate personnel including Operational teams from all functional areas that contribute to the proposal and Sales throughout the proposal generation process
• Provide consistent support to meet proposal submission timelines
• Attend bid defense preparation meetings and other client meetings as a support role as required
  Develops and implements training of Operational Teams in the strategic use of budgeting tools and materials as a means to facilitate their review and contribution of proposal budget development
  Provides strategic input in the development of budgeting tools to integrate innovation, efficiency and flexibility as a means to increase the value offer for clients and competitive bidding. Integration of efficiencies and adaptive costing for integrated ICON services.
  Leads initiatives related to the development of processes and tools to improve the accuracy and quality of proposals and contracts
• Comply with ICON administrative, training and human resources policies
• Provides input to departmental process improvements and participate in special projects periodically assigned, in addition to day-to-day duties

• Ability and willingness to travel at least 10% of the time (international and domestic: fly and drive)
• Acts as leader to more junior staff
• Trains assigned team to ensure clients are receive proposals that are competitive,  accurate and in a timely manner
*Trains assigned team on technical and administrative functions for multiple, simultaneous, complex projects.
*Ensures assigned team project activities are consistent with project requirements and contractual scope of work.
*Ensures assigned team are able to adapt to changes in deadlines and changes in the nature of assignments.
*Ensures assigned team are able to appropriately prioritize competing project demands.


Your profile

  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences, pharmacy, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

  • Previous experience in clinical research, preferably within the CRO or pharmaceutical industry.

  • Understanding of study designs, clinical trial regulations, guidelines and industry standards.

  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities with a focus on driving results.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively work with sponsors directly

  • Fluent in Dutch and English
