This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Proposals Department at ICON, a leading global provider of outsourced development services to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries.
This particular role would support our Laboratory Services Division.
As a Senior Proposals Development Associate you will support Business Development in the winning of new business for ICON Laboratory Services through delivery of high quality customer-focused proposals and budgets for the conduct of clinical trials in response to Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
You will play an essential role within the overall commercial/sales process, working closely with internal stakeholders across throughout our business (Business Development; Project Management; Laboratory Operations; Scientific Affairs).
Overview of the Role:
Lead, coordinate and prepare client focused proposals, budgets and client grids for new business opportunities and ensure that the all required information is provided in the final proposal within given timeframe
Chair kick-off, budget and strategy meetings as appropriate and coordinate the participation of appropriate personnel in the proposal development process. Liaise with the sales, proposals and operations teams throughout the proposal generation to ensure that the proposal and strategy meets the business needs.
Prepare budgets for proposals by interacting with operational departments to coordinate budgets and assumptions. You will also prepare budgets and specifications for contracts for new business awards
To be considered for this opportunity you should have:
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a Science or Business subject•
You will have previous professional experience within the CRO, Pharmaceutical or Healthcare industry within the Laboratory environment
Ability to evaluate RFPs and identify critical issues and questions and also the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
You will be a self-starter who is able to work independently and remain highly motivated in a high-paced, dynamic environment
You will have excellent numeracy, communication and organizational skills
If you have prior proposals experience, you will have the ability to evaluate RFPs and have an understanding of industry cost drivers and costing algorithms
Ability and willingness to travel at least 5% of the time (international and domestic: fly and drive)
Please note - we welcome applications of all levels- determination on level will be made after the conclusion of the interview process. Central lab experience/lab experience is a must for this role.
