This is an exciting opportunity to work within a fast paced, busy environment for a leading global provider of outsourced development services to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries. The primary role of the Senior Research Scientist is to oversee the scientific aspects of an assay development/validation project.

The role

• Independently direct development and validation of new flow cytometry assays, new cell-based assays, and novel circulating tumor cell [CTC] assays
• Exhibit scientific leadership related to the testing of clinical trial samples for CTC, flow cytometry and cell-based assays
• Independently manage all aspects of R&D assay validations; experiments, data analysis, sponsor updates, interact with IT department, interact with operational lab, interact with PM
• Knowledge of basic computer programs
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Experienced multi-tasker with the ability to work independently with a high degree of quality
• Proven track record in delivering focused customer service and client satisfaction
• Experience in managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines
• Excellent presentation skills
• Serve as a scientific leader within the department
• Ability to remain composed and even-keeled in stressful situations, performing effectively in spite of shifting priorities, workload and external pressures

What you need

• Minimum 10 years of experience in cell-culture, cell-based assays, Flow Cytometry
• PhD in science related field preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, good laboratory and organizational skills, including the ability to work independently and efficiently.
• Ability to multitask, along with an orientation toward teamwork and leadership, and strong creative thinking and problem solving skills.
