The Role
ICON is seeking to hire an entry level SOC Analyst to join our Cyber Security Operations Center (CSOC) team.
The team are proud winners of a recent CSO50 award for the PRA Integration project. The CSO50 Awards recognize 50 security projects and initiatives that demonstrate outstanding business value and thought leadership. We give all our staff SANS training every year and are fully supportive of enabling our team members to get to security conferences.
The SOC Analyst plays a vital role in keeping ICON systems and sensitive information secure. He/she plays an important part in the Cyber Security Operations Center working processes to quickly detect, respond and resolve security threats and incidents.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the SOC Manager, the successful SOC Analyst is responsible for supporting the following:
- Prioritize and analyze security events to determine the level of risk and severity
- of security incidents.
- Investigate and analyze security incidents, including identifying the root cause,
- scope of impact, and the appropriate response and mitigation measures.
- Collaborate with other members of the SOC team and IT Operations to ensure
- the timely resolution of security incidents.
- Document security incidents, including incident response procedures, lessons
- learned, and best practices for future reference.
- Continual improvement of detection analytics and capabilities across security
- solutions.
- Perform daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual tasks outlined in the operation runbooks.
- Manage security requests within ticketing system based on risk assessment and Information security policy
- Ability to relate technical issues to non-technical associates / business owners.
- Maintain a strong awareness of the current threat landscape.
- Other functions as assigned by ICON SOC Manager.
Skills & Experience
Working as part of a global security team the SOC analyst must be a proven self-starter, have strong organisational and communications skills. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for Cybersecurity, enthusiasm to learn and work collaboratively. They should also have a basic understanding in the following areas:
- MITRE ATT&CK Framework
- NIST cybersecurity framework
- Incident Response Process
- Information Security Standards
- Anti-Virus, Anti Malware, EDR
- Network Security
- Web and Email Security
- Web Application Security
Qualifications & Experience:
- Entry level position so previous SOC analyst experience is not required.
- Bachelor’s degree in information security, cyber security, computer science, or other relevant information security certifications, is preferred.
