Role and Responsibilities:
As a Software Engineer at Icon plc. you will be a key contributor to our projects. Your responsibilities will include:
Requirements Understanding: Collaborate with Product and Business teams to thoroughly understand project requirements.
Low-Level Design: Create low-level designs and implement complex features, ensuring their successful integration within the team.
Data Modeling: Develop efficient and performant data models that support feature development.
Technical Solutions: Contribute technical solutions to enhance the quality and efficiency of the team's work.
Continuous Growth: Actively seek out technical or domain areas for growth, staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
FTE Allocation:
70% - Focus time on Development and Coding
10% - Testing and Quality Assurance
10% - Collaboration and Team Meetings:
10% - Self-development
Please note that the FTE split may vary based on project needs and team dynamics. This allocation is provided as a general guideline.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
2+ years of relevant experience in software engineering.
Strong C# development experience, particularly in creating Service Oriented Architectures and Microservices.
Experience with cloud technologies.
A fundamental understanding of Agile principles.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills.
Must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work effectively with diverse teams, departments, and divisions.
Comfortable working with remote teams across multiple time zones.
Understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git, as well as code versioning philosophies like Git-Flow.
