Tax Manager
 
Location: Dublin
 
Are you looking for a dynamic and meaningful Tax Manager role in the tax function of an Irish headquartered Plc?
 
Do you love working with cross functional teams on a global level?
 
ICON Plc has an excellent opportunity for a qualified tax professional which will involve working on a broad range of domestic and cross border tax issues across all of ICON’s business. You will become part of a small but highly motivated tax team based in ICON’s global headquarters in Dublin responsible for the management and oversight of ICON’s tax position globally.
 
You will join a professional and expert finance team focused on making an impact globally and supporting ICON’s mission – to help its clients accelerate the development of drugs and medical devices that save patient lives and improve their quality of life.
 
Role responsibilities include:
  • Identification and implementation of tax planning opportunities.
  • Partnering with internal finance teams and local professional advisers to ensure compliance with tax filing and payment obligations across each of your countries and provision of audit defense support as required.
  • Keeping up to date with legislative developments in your countries and ensuring the implications of all legislative changes are addressed appropriately.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely quarterly US GAAP tax reporting.
  • Providing commercially focused and actionable tax support to all customers in respect of local business operations across all tax heads.
  • Structuring internal re-organizations and new set-ups.
  • Ensuring compliance with local transfer pricing regulations within the framework of ICON’s overall business model.
Experience & Knowledge Requirements:
  • Qualified Accountant and AITI Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) with an excellent academic background;
  • Currently working with a Big 4 practice or within a PLC/MNC environment:
  • A commercially focused problem solver with a strong technical background and extensive experience advising international companies across a range of tax heads. Broad international corporate tax and VAT experience will be an advantage;
  • An ability to develop effective internal and external networks;
  • A phenomenal team member with the ability to influence cross functional groups to implement of efficient and tax compliant solutions;
  • Excellent computer skills, Oracle experience would be ideal however not essential.
  • Language skills an advantage but not necessary.
Education Requirements:
  • AITI Chartered Tax Adviser or similar international qualification
  • Qualified Accountant.
