Are you looking for a varied and challenging Tax Manager role in the tax function of an Irish headquartered Plc?

This excellent opportunity will involve working on a broad range of domestic and cross border tax issues across all of ICON’s business. You will become part of a small highly motivated tax team based in ICON’s global headquarters in Dublin responsible for the management and oversight of ICON’s tax position globally.
 

Role responsibilities include:
  • Recognize, exemplify and adhere to ICON's values which center around our commitment to People, Clients and Performance.
  • As a member of staff, the employee is expected to embrace and contribute to our culture of process improvement with a focus on streamlining our processes adding value to our business and meeting client needs.
  • Identification and implementation of tax planning opportunities.
  • Working with internal finance teams and local professional advisers to ensure compliance with tax filing and payment obligations across each of your countries and provision of audit defense support as required.
  • Maintaining excellent relationships with local finance teams and external advisers.
  • Keeping up to date with legislative developments in your countries and ensuring the implications of all legislative changes are addressed appropriately.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely quarterly US GAAP reporting.
  • Providing commercially focused and actionable tax support to internal and external customers in respect of local business operations across all tax heads.
  • Structuring internal re-organisations and new set ups.
  • Ensuring compliance with local transfer pricing regulations within the framework of ICON’s overall business model.
 

Experience & Knowledge Requirements:

 
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Qualified Accountant and AITI Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) with an excellent academic background;
  • Currently working with a Big 4 practice or within a PLC/MNC environment: A commercially focused problem solver with a strong technical background and extensive experience advising international companies across a range of tax heads. Broad international corporate tax and VAT experience will be an advantage;
  • An ability to develop effective internal and external networks;
  • Able to work well as part of a team and influence cross functional groups to implement of efficient and tax compliant solutions;
  • Excellent computer skills, Oracle  experience an advantage but not necessary;
  • Language skills an advantage but not necessary.


 

 
 
 
 
Education Requirements:
  • AITI Chartered Tax Adviser or similar international qualification
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher. A professional accounting qualification preferred
