About the VP, Clinical Operations at ICON:
ICON is seeking a Vice President of Clinical Operations to provide leadership for the overall performance, quality, execution, control and completion of all Clinical Operations services within North America. Successful candidate will drive the completion and delivery of the end to end services through a variety of metrics and KPI's. This role will contribute directly towards ICON achieving growth in  both sales and quality within the CRO market place. Line management of the Clinical Director teams, as well as some other manager levels in Clinical Ops and possibly Study Start Up. Within the matrix structure, work with the functional heads to agree any changes and operational deliveries across their region.
 
The VP Clinical Ops’ will carry out all relevant line management responsibilities including goal-setting and development plans. Leading and managing the regional leadership team through empowering and coaching them to deliver their key department objectives. Drive a performance driven culture across the region while also heavily working on resource planning to maintain appropriate headcount. Represent ICON and our region of expertise across key client portfolios on executive steering committees and at bid defense meetings. Developing key relationships with customers and where needed participate on customer steering committees.

To succeed you will need:
The successful candidate will possess an educational degree with extensive experience conducting and overseeing clinical trials and ICH GCP. You will need 10+ years direct line management experience within a CRO or Pharmaceutical environment while managing Director level staff. Clinical Operations oversight skills, commercial awareness and operational P&L experience required. Successful candidate will be proficient in drug development with significant experience working in Clinical Research. Ability to travel at least 30% internationally and preferably in close proximity to a major ICON office such as North Wales, PA or Raleigh, NC.
