ICON Pricing and Market Access (ICON P&MA) is a consultancy team, part of Icon Plc, with a long heritage of providing its clients with strategic guidance in the development and implementation of pricing and market access strategy.  In addition, as part of the broader ICON organisation, ICON P&MA often works alongside colleagues in Health Economics and with ICON’s clinical experts to support clients in demonstrating and communicating the value of their products.  

 

The Pricing & Market Access group generates the most valuable recommendations for pricing products to ensure you can understand and implement necessary strategies to bring your products to market effectively. By delivering robust value strategies, designing efficient pricing and market access infrastructures and processes, and providing tailored client training, you will be prepared to act on any value-based pricing activities. The unique strategic approach to P&MA combines experiential assessment with rigorous quantitative analysis and research.

 

 

Icon Plc is a global provider of outsourced development services to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries. We specialize in the strategic development, management and analysis of programs that support Clinical Development – from compound selection to Phase I - IV clinical studies


As a Consultant, Pricing and Market Access you will be responsible for client delivery, assisting in business development activities and supporting company growth initiatives. You will take an active leadership role in regional projects including the development of project plans and the management of a project to the plan as well as successfully meeting project timing and the quality of deliverables.


The Consultant participates in the development and implementation of primary and secondary research tools including but not limited to the creation of qualitative research discussion guides, quantitative research survey guides, and the collection and distillation of data from these tools. Secondary research will be conducted using carious databases and data sets from a variety of sources. All data from these processes will need to-be distilled down into actionable and relevant data typically transferred to PowerPoint slides. The consultant will participate in this work and oversee the work of others - including managing the input of junior and senior staff - in a collaborative manner. Additional work may include the creation of models for financial analysis, supportive efforts for advisory boards, and ad hoc supportive work for other practices. Output from this work are the final deliverables to our customer base. This position will have high visibility to both internal and external customers, and will actively manage team-oriented discussions and decisions.


Job responsibilities:

  • Lead internal operation for project delivery
  • Ensure efficient and profitable delivery of projects
  • Act as a primary point of contact with client in project delivery
  • Client interface for communications on project status, obtaining input and review/approval of materials
  • Present and take an active role in client meetings and presentations
  • Leadership role in developing primary research tools
  • Moderates interviews with payers and KOLs in a support role to project lead
  • Cost projects and manage project financials to ensure projects are within budget expectations
  • Maintains consistent and effective team communication
  • Understanding and effective application of PriceSpective analytical framework
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant SOPs, policies and procedures

  • Bachelor’s Degree in life sciences, business or related discipline
  • Minimum of 2 years of life sciences consulting or pharma/biotech industry experience.
  • Industry experience (pricing, forecasting, more general commercial strategy), managed care or reimbursement policy, consulting or related experience (strategy consulting to healthcare industry, market research) that supplements an advance degree.
  • An understanding of pharmaceutical pricing and reimbursement systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of pricing and reimbursement content, issues, and methodologies
  • Demonstrated excellence in the quality of deliverables
  • Demonstrated excellence in clarity and completeness in oral, written and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated skills in coaching and development of staff
  • Demonstrated skills in client communications
  • Able to manage 2-3 projects simultaneously
  • Able to achieve client comfort as an expert in addition to a project manager
  • Takes a lead role in developing proposals
  • Able to generate new or follow on business with clients with help from senior PSp management
  • An understanding of pharmaceutical pricing and reimbursement systems in target geography
  • Due to the nature of this position, it may be required for the employee to travel. Therefore, dependent on the employee’s location, the employee may be required to possess valid Driver’s license and be able to commit to an approx. 20% of domestic and international travel
