What will you do?
The Director, Domain Consulting has primary responsibility for managing the relationship we have with our data suppliers to procure their data in exchange for cash or services (service in kind). Because many of these suppliers can also benefit from Symphony’s aggregated data in the Integrated Data Verse, the secondary responsibility is focusing on creating a unique value proposition in which both companies benefit from joint development of offerings. These partnerships may come from data suppliers OR other companies in the market that have complementary services or offerings.
Partner with data suppliers to develop a mutually beneficial partnership in which we gain access to their data in exchange for cash or value in services returned. Value may be generated through analytics, data or technology.
Partner with complementary companies in joint product development that will benefit both companies in saving money or generating revenue.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Learning and staying informed on the complex and comprehensive Symphony Health (SH) product line
Developing and maintaining expert level knowledge of service offerings
Overseeing a team to drive our data and partnership strategy.
Build an effective strategy leveraging SH data to help suppliers improve their business performance in prioritized markets.
Support the development of new value propositions and negotiate agreements that enable SH to offset data costs and help position SH as a strategic and interdependent partner with suppliers.
If investment is required, must be able to analyze data to present ROI to ICON Investment Approval Board.
Assess potential M&A targets.
Detailed Duties:
Consults with suppliers and partners to drive new business development to meet quarterly and annual sales goals by meeting with suppliers and partners to discuss, document, and fully understand specific needs
Craft a methodological approach to meet the partner’s objectives, including design and documentation, if a customized deliverable is required
Effectively articulate the value of proposed deliverable/solution through a formal presentation and addressing objections
Create a detailed work plan that will drive the solution
Define service opportunities based on the needs of the supplier or partner.
Bring the opportunities together to create an overarching approach for partners that leverages common elements but is also specific to the needs of the markets.
Play a key role within the SH Product Development Process to define & develop new services for suppliers and partners.
Lead cross functional teams to ensure the offerings meet supplier needs, are economically and technically viable and are deliverable.
Develops pricing strategies and metrics to measure supplier services benefits
Helps to manage the business case, costs, and trade-offs to deliver the maximum value from suppliers and partners within agreed timescales and constraints.
Identify and assist in the execution of acquisition or strategic partnership opportunities that can accelerate growth.
What do you have?
Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing, research-based social science, statistics, pharmacology, or quantitative methods;
Preferred: Master’s in healthcare or Business administration
Minimum Experience: 15 years of professional experience, including:
15 years of related experience, in some combination of data operations, consulting, project management, leadership, or sales within pharmacy operations, the pharmacy industry, or related support industry (e.g., consulting, data provider) in specified practice area.
Ability to work with the executive leadership team and staff to understand supplier and partner needs and find solutions for those needs.
Ability to think strategically and develop clear business strategies and action plans, including pricing
Making in-person presentations to prospective partners to explain the business’ products and services and their alignment with the partner’s/supplier’s needs.
Selling a complex product/service/solution requiring in-depth knowledge of the partners business and how solution meets that need.
Consultative selling approach.
Leading cross-functional groups to create analytic solutions.
Working with complex datasets to create information and solutions with little guidance or oversight.
Strong knowledge of the Pharmacy/Drug Distribution industry in practice area.
Expertise in specific therapeutic categories.
Sales and partnering processes and activities.
Strong negotiation skills.
Excellent communication skills, including written and oral communication.
Partner focused.
Critical Thinking — uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
Complex Problem Solving — review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Ability to travel 15-25%
