Legal Counsel - Office with Hybrid - Sofia, Bulgaria

We provide strategic legal solutions to key business stakeholders, including: Early Development Services business unit, which specializes in the strategy and delivery of early-phase clinical development services, including at ICON’s state of the art Clinical Research Units, and end-to-end bioanalytical laboratory support from pre-clinical to Phase IV; and Laboratory Services & Medical Imaging business unit, which provides flexible, agile and proactive central and specialty laboratory and medical imaging services dedicated to global clinical development.

The role is a true business partnering role and offers great variety and exposure to an ever growing and critical business area. You'll have the support of an award winning in house legal team who will invest much time in your career development.

The role is hybrid in Sofia, Bulgaira (60% office-based/40% remote).

What you will be doing:

• Providing strategic advice to key business stakeholders that supports efficient and effective solutions and articulates legal and commercial risks to inform decision making;

• Reviewing, drafting and negotiating a wide range of global client and vendor commercial contracts (e.g. confidentiality agreements, services agreements, software license agreements, clinical and commercial technology agreements, agency agreements, distribution agreements);

• Advising on commercial, corporate, IP/IT, data protection, litigation, employment, compliance and any other legal matters that arise in the day to day operation of the business;

• Identifying process inefficiencies, make recommendations for improvements and own/support process improvement projects; and

• Engaging and liaising with external counsel (managing and minimizing costs to the extent possible).

Your profile:

• Legal Qualification (admitted to practice Law) with proven experience (1-3 years’ post-qualification) in commercial contract negotiations in a regulated industry required;

• Ability to independently evaluate complex legal concepts/issues assessing risk and provide commercially focused pragmatic solutions in simple language on all communication mediums to the business;

• Team player and relationship builder with strong intrapersonal, communication, organization and time management skills;

• Self-starter with the ability to work on their own initiative under tight timelines in a fast paced environment;

• Experience in improving efficiencies in a legal function.
