SUMMARY

To act as Legal Counsel within the Study Start Up Legal Support Team and support PMs and start up activities by reviewing and advising on investigator contracts, site Master Service Agreements or any other legal documents. To set up and review processes and procedures, to improve and maintain ICON’s standard investigator templates, to manage & share knowledge regarding local country/site investigator contracts.

JOB FUNCTIONS

•Travel (approximately 10%) domestic and/or international

•To oversee and advise the legal response for Investigator contracts.

•To support the legal team and advise on contract language.

*Consultant on Investigator Contracts, as requested by ICON Project Managers (PM), ICON project

team and/or Sponsor.

•Assign tasks to team members as requested by ICON PM, ICON project team and/or Sponsor.

•Review and develop Clinical Investigator Agreements.

Assist with reviewing Investigator site Master Service Agreements (MSAs) or other MSAs as

appropriate.

•Liaise with patient recruitment group, finance and any other relevant departments/regions within ICON.

Assess and manage local country specific legal vendor network.

•Liaise with project managers and offer support to PMs/study teams.

•Provide status reports as required.

•Attend bid defence meetings as appropriate.

•Provide training on an ongoing basis re: Investigator contracts..

•Develop appropriate processes and procedures.

•Develop and maintain ICON’s standard investigator template.

•Consult with Project Managers, Sponsor’s project leaders and other appropriate personnel on contract language/budget development and negotiations, special site requests outside of established parameters, and all other pertinent information toward the execution of contract-related documents for a given study.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

Legal Qualification (Admitted to practice Law) with prior relevant experience preferably in a

Pharmaceutical company’s legal department, CRO legal department or law firm.

Proven experience in contract negotiations preferably in the Pharmaceutical/CRO/Biotech industry. Working knowledge of PC Applications (Excel, Microsoft Word, Windows).

Ability to independently evaluate complex issues and utilise judgment to sort through diverse opinions to achieve consensus.

Proven team player with demonstrated leadership and/or consultation skills.


Ability to synthesize information and present/summarise conclusions and recommendations.


Due to the nature of this position it may be required for the employee to travel. Therefore, dependent on the employee’s location, the employee may be required to possess a valid Drivers license.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Qualified Lawyer (Solicitor, Barrister, Advocate, Attorney or similar).
