SUMMARY

Ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of enterprise network and telephony components and related technologies in support of core organizational functions. Apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues in support of business processing requirements.

JOB FUNCTIONS

• Demonstrated ability in being a major participant and/or lead for projects based on IT initiatives. Ownership of key tasks/milestones to achieve a successful implementation/closure

• Exemplifies an attitude of ownership and accountability with regards to the responsibilities of the role and works to build this mindset with others on the team.

• Provides expert technical support across multiple enterprise technologies – acts as the subject matter expert on two or more technologies.

• Act as primary technical liaison from networking group to Systems Engineering group.

• Research software and systems products and technologies to justify recommendations and support purchasing efforts.

• Coordinate and participate in key process improvements as they relate to the network and unified communications platforms related to the core infrastructure services environment.

• Act as an escalation point for Service desk tickets and Problem Resolution incidents.

• Planning, coordination, and implementation of network and unified communications installations, upgrades, routine maintenance and vendor-supplied patches in accordance with established Information Technology (IT) policies and procedures.

• Proactively monitors and tune systems to achieve optimum performance levels; provide performance statistics and reports.

• Provide timely response to escalations in accordance with service level agreements (SLAs); act as technical escalation and resource to junior team members.

• Manage enterprise network and unified communications infrastructure. Act as an escalation point for team members supporting these technologies.

• Define and implement strategies for integrating disparate operating environments.

• Design and review of all network and unified communications systems; architect the infrastructure required to support these projects.

• Provide off hours support through the use of a rotating on call procedure

• Travel (approximately 10%) domestic and/or international

EDUCATION

• Bachelor’s Degree, or local equivalent, in related field or equivalent relevant work experience; Industry standard certifications preferred.

EXPERIENCE

• In depth proven experience in a technical position supporting server environments required. Data center experience required.

• A history of individual contribution to successful projects which may include leadership type activities.

• Strong working knowledge of various networking technologies including items such as: TCP/IP, LAN/WAN systems, optimization/performance, SIP, H.323, G.711, G.729, RTP, and remote access technologies.

• Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining network and unified communications hardware and associated equipment.

• Vendor management experience preferred.

• Due to the nature of this position it may be required for the employee to travel. Therefore, dependent on the employee’s location, the employee may be required to possess a valid Drivers license.
