Project Manager & PMO Analyst

OVERVIEW OF ROLE
IT Project Manager is responsible for the delivery a Projects within Budget and timeline that enable a specific business unit /department within an allocated ICON Division to meet or exceed its predetermined Return on Investment and goals.
You must have a thorough understanding of the full IT Portfolio methodology by understanding the entry and exit criteria for the full gating process and therefore the associated artifacts. In addition you will be required to mentor and coach other IT GBS and business staff on the full project management methodology e.g. project team members.
This role also includes responsibilities as IT PMO Portfolio Analyst, this includes working on key PMO process improvement initiatives and working under the Portfolio Manager to continuously develop the maturity of the PMO processes and teams. This position will report into the IT GBS Portfolio Manager.
JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Manage the full project management lifecycle on medium to large scale IT Projects in accordance with the IT GBS Project Management methodology. This may also include the management of small Projects as required.
· PMO Portfolio Analyst responsibilities for co-ordination and driving the PMO maturity plan under the Portfolio Manager. This will include driving and managing key performance metrics, PMO dashboard delivery, benefits realization and co-ordination and leading key process improvement initiatives aimed towards driving the PMO Maturity Plan.
· Team management to motivate, drive collaboration and assess performance.
· Work closely with Delivery Managers on project cost estimation, scope definition and project planning estimation etc, in particular where this applies an overall IT Program.
· Apply advanced methods for project cost estimation, planning and related scope control.
· Adherence to project change process, as appropriate.
· Ensure projects are delivered to high quality standards.
· Demonstrate and apply advanced risk and issue mitigation strategies.
· Assist in project business case/chartering process and setup.
· Understand and help track short-term project key performance metrics (for example, schedule variances and customer satisfaction).
· Perform project post implementation reviews and thereby ensuring that lessons learned are shared with the IT PMO and applied to future IT GBS Projects and or Programs
· Implement "rightsized" project management processes (especially supporting quality assurance).
· Track short-term project metrics (for example, schedule variances and customer satisfaction).
· Provide oversight and control of any external resources contracted to the project.
· Learning and development in PM areas beyond core expertise.
· Understand and apply appropriate process change management approaches
· Additionally you will be required to develop communication beyond seeming minimum; strong communication skills, with confirmation of understandings and commitments
· Constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders, including submission of weekly status reports to the PMO
· Engaging with an array of stakeholders, such as the projects' business sponsors, business analysts, enterprise architects, resource managers, contractor project managers and program managers.
· Supports the implementation of IT PMO policies and procedures

· Responsible for managing budgets of up to $2.5 Million USD
· Managing several projects concurrently
· Travel (approximately 10%) domestic and/or international
SUPERVISION
· Management and supervision of Project teams
· Supervision of PMO Administrator
· Perform team management, driving motivation, collaboration and performance reviews.
· Manage Apprentice Project Managers and Project Leaders as needed, typically for projects that report into you.
· Provide an environment conducive to the mentoring, coaching and training Apprentice Project Managers and Project Leaders.
· Goal setting and performance reviews.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

· 5+ years, working knowledge and first-hand IT Project Management experience
· Relevant PM Certification e.g. PMP and CSM.
· Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills, issue management and resolutions skills
· Confidence in self and organization and a “can do” attitude.
· The ability to motivate project team members to deliver and take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
· Rigor and attention to detail.
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or Engineering or equivalent work experience required
