If you have experience handling biological lab specimens and prepping samples for delivery to a clinical laboratory; learn how you can play a key role as Senior Laboratory Assistant for ICON Laboratory Services which is dedicated exclusively to central laboratory testing and the associate services for clinical trials.    
 
About the Senior Laboratory Assistant role within ICON: 
 
The Senior Laboratory Assistant will assist with retrieval and set up of samples for analysis by receiving samples from Sample Management and segregating and distributing to the lab as per standard operating procedure.  Monitor, receive and outsource shipments and ensure that all samples are tracked and accounted for, troubleshoot extra samples and notify shipping facility of any discrepancies, assist with the preparation of samples for testing, retrieve/return samples from long-term storage to laboratory for testing upon request and collate and transfer samples for long term storage.
 
The Senior Laboratory Assistant will manage specimen storage rotation and disposal as well as the Relabeling, Uncapping, and Recapping of samples, assist with Inventory logs and counts, and manage queries from Client Services regarding Add-On Testing and identify the proper sample.
 
Support Lab Management staff by providing resources for specific projects and tasks primarily through delegation whenever possible.  Assist with training team members to perform all relevant tasks and daily activities.  Will serve as back-up for the Laboratory Support Coordinator and provide mentorship for training of Lab Assistants.

To succeed you will need:
 
You will possess a High School Diploma along with 1 year of related experience in a Clinical Laboratory. You will have basic working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office along with excellent written/verbal communication skills, the ability to handle large work load demands and trouble shoot issues timely when required, and exhibit appropriate time management skills and attention to detail.   Demonstrated ability to keep accurate, legible records and recognize the need to handle these records and all other information in line with GCP/GLP/GDP.
