ICON plc, a leading Contract Research Organisation, employing approximately 14,000 employees across 97 offices in 38 countries, seeks a highly motivated Senior Sample Management Coordinator to join the Sample Management team at its Leopardstown Global HQ.  

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a fast paced, busy environment for a leading global provider of outsourced development services to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries.

The Role:

As Senior Sample Management Coordinator, you will join a busy sample management team tasked with the unique responsibility of receiving valuable human specimens to our lab. You will be responsible for coordinating the storage and shipment of diagnostic samples as per client specific requirements.  Maintaining sample integrity at all times, ensuring correct procedures are followed and correct documentation accompanies the shipment of samples.

Role Responsibilities:

• Preparation of sample requests and maintaining shipment documentation in appropriate files.
• Opening packages and receipt of samples into the database.
• Quality checking and packing shipments to ensure correct samples and documentation are shipped.
• Shipment of samples to other ICON Lab locations or referral laboratories.
• Documenting and researching any problems with samples and directing complex problems to Project Management, or other contacts as required.
• Coordinate   courier collections with Logistics to ensure shipments   are sent  as  per  protocol  specific requirements.
• Assists in training of new hires.
• Capture and maintain department metrics.
• Take the lead in direct Supervisor's absence.
• Additional responsibilities as requested by management of Sample Management.

• Leaving certificate / equivalent
• Excellent attention to detail
