Supervisor Sample Management

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a fast paced, busy environment for a leading global provider of outsourced development services to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries. As a Supervisor Sample Management you are responsible for working with New York and Dublin Management Teams to maintain global compatibility within the department. To oversee and coordinate the daily unpacking of deliveries, checking and verifying specimens received against accompanying requisition forms, data entry of patient information into PACS, labeling and validation and subsequent 100% QC of generated accession forms versus received requisition forms... To coordinate the process of storing the received sample management samples into PACS in an accurate and timely manner. To oversee the preparation of client shipment of Sample Management samples back to the client or 3rd party laboratories as well as the Send NY shipment.
All sample handling must be done in adherence to OSHA and the ICON Laboratories Health and Safety Regulations as well as Client Services and Laboratory Sops and Client Specific SOPs.

JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

1) To oversee the Storage Sample Management group by helping to develop improved Process Flows and training of new staff for efficiency and consistency. Also Responsible for providing weekly updates and metrics to the General Manager ICL Europe. 20% of the time.
2) To supervise the scanning of packages, the unpacking of specimens and the receiving routine of specimens and accompanying data into the LIMS system as outlined in the Dept SOP. 20% of the time
3) To supervise and assist in the receiving of Sample Management samples into the storage modules of PACS and assigning appropriate freezer space depending upon temperature requirements for the specific study. 20% of the time.
4) Responsible to maintain change of custody information. 10% of the time
5) To supervise and assist where necessary the preparation of client sample shipments back to the client or an appropriate 3rd party laboratory or to NY for testing as appropriate.15% of the time
6) Transport of specimens to the technicians in the laboratory when necessary. 2.5% of the time.
7) Filing and retrieving internal copies of all reports and forms. 2.5% of the time.
8) To supervise and review purchase and the maintenance of the department’s storage freezers.
9) Ensure that defined metrics are captured and reported on a regular basis as requested by CS Management. 5% of the time
10) Performs additional relevant responsibilities as requested by Management staff. 5% of the time.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

(i) Educational Requirements
High School diploma
(ii) Experience Required
One to six months relevant experience*.
*An alternative combination of experience, education, and training determined by management to be equivalent to the foregoing.
