We are currently seeking a Tax Accountant to join our diverse and dynamic team. The Tax Accountant is part of ICON Plc’s tax team reporting directly to the Tax Director located in Raleigh, NC. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and dedicated team. We are a growing organization with a strong global presence. We are seeking a team player with a proven track record of success.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Responsible for compilation and data entry of tax information such as federal M-1 calculation, state apportionment for the US tax return and provision.
• Responsible for reviewing state tax returns, contact state with various notice/assessment and audit.
• Responsible for compilation of the foreign tax information for the Canadian tax return.
• Responsible for processing and the documentation of tax payments, invoices, and notices.
• Maintenance of compliance schedule including internal timelines and external due dates.
• Assist with tax research and consulting projects.
• Maintain updated schedules for federal and state law changes.
• Have good knowledge of fixed asset depreciation and maintain fixed asset tax depreciation software.
• Become oriented with Company’s practices, policies, and culture.
• Obtain an understanding of software utilized internally in order to create various reports.
• Assist with quarterly/yearly tax provision with foreign entities.

Your Profile:

• The successful candidate will possess the following basic qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field. Master degree preferred with at least 2 year experience in public accounting firms.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, accounting system such as Oracle, online tax provision software such as Longview but not required (preferred).
• A general knowledge of business taxation, compliance, and tax accounting.
• Excellent project management, analytical, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic team environment.
• Professionalism, dependability, integrity and trustworthiness combined with a cooperative attitude.
• Highly motivated self-starter with ability to multitask and complete assignments within time constraints and deadlines.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
