We are currently recruiting an opportunity to join the ICON operational team, as a Clinical Operations Manager.  This role will take responsibility for overseeing target and quality deliverables and developing our CRA team in the region across Sweden, Denmark and Norway.   
 
Our business has grown and developed significantly in the past five years and we are currently in a strong, top five position as one of the leading, global Clinical Research Organisations.  ICON is known for its clinical expertise and innovative technologies, to aid our clients in bringing products to market.
 
Overview of the Role
 
The overall objective for Clinical Operations Manager’s in ICON is to ensure delivery of the CRA teams against key company metrics, driving the completion and the delivery of our ICON service for quality and acting as a people leader to our CRA’s team located in Sweden, Denmark and Norway.
 
As part of your role of people manager you will be conducting regular progress meetings with your team, 1 to 1 meeting’s and formal performance reviews.  Remote monitoring will be an important aspect of your role, as some of the team will not be situated locally.
 
ICON Manager’s role will include developing and growing the capabilities for your team.  You will provide direction and guidance for staff to develop skills and knowledge to further their career with ICON.
 
Travel will be required as part of the role, you will travel to attend MAV assessment visits with CRA’s and travel for training, management meetings.  Approximately, once per month both local and international travel.
 
Role Requirements
 
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • With a University degree in medicine, science, or equivalent, you will have had a successful career within the CRO/Pharmaceutical industry at Senior Associate and/or manager level
  • People management skills would be essential, experience leading a team of CRA's or team within Study Start Up
  • In depth proven experience as a Senior CRA or Principal CRA (in a Lead CRA role), Project Manager, CRA Manager, SSU Manager or equivalent job role.
  • A collaborative approach to driving performance and success in the global environment
  • Understanding of clinical research systems, building reports and analyse data
  • Able to engage and motivate a team
  • Excellent communication skills, including fluency in English (written and spoken) as well as the native language of the country, for which you are applying
