Position: Consultant, Pricing and Market Access
Location: Boston or New York preferably
The ICON Global Pricing & Market Access team generates rigorous, stakeholder-informed strategic recommendations to help our clients optimize their pricing and contracting approaches, evidence development strategies, negotiation plans, and stakeholder-optimized value communication. Our goal is to maximize our clients’ success in developing transformative new medicines, position products for commercial success, and ensure that patients can easily access these therapies with minimal delay. Our fully integrated practice draws on our deep expertise within pricing and market access as well as the unsurpassed capability to incorporate collaborative insights from our ICON experts in other value-driven development areas including Health Economics, Medical Communications, Creative and Digital Services, Clinical Research Services, Real World Evidence.
As a Consultant within ICON’s Global Pricing and Market Access team, you will be responsible for project delivery and client engagement, assisting in business development activities and supporting company growth initiatives. You will take an active leadership role in projects including the development of project plans and the management of projects as well as ensuring that the deliverables successfully meet timing and quality expectations. The consultant will participate in this work and oversee the work of others - including managing the input of junior and senior staff - in a collaborative manner. This position will have high visibility to both internal and external customers, and will actively manage team-oriented discussions and decisions.
Key responsibilities include:
· Development and implementation of primary and secondary research projects including creation of qualitative research discussion guides, quantitative research survey guides, and the collection and distillation of data from these tools
· Conducting secondary research using internal and external data sources
· Distilling project results into actionable and relevant analyses within visually impactful PowerPoint presentations
· Verbally presenting project updates and results
· Leading internal operation for project delivery to ensure efficient and profitable completion of projects
· Supervising, managing and directing activities of junior team members (analysts and senior analysts), while actively supporting their development via ongoing coaching and mentorship
· Acting as a primary point of contact with client in project delivery, and serving as main client interface for communications on project status, obtaining input and review/approval of materials
· Conducting and moderating interviews and advisory board discussions with payers and KOLs in collaboration with project lead
· Maintaining consistent and effective team communication
· Ensuring compliance with all relevant SOPs, policies and procedures
· Contributing to internal initiatives to expand expertise within pricing and market access project types, methodologies, and pricing and reimbursement policy horizon scanning
· Supporting thought leadership initiatives including client training webinars, journal publications, congress presentations and white papers
· Demonstrating and actively promoting an open and honest working environment to encourage close teamwork, foster knowledge transfer, and provide clear direction to all employees

Role Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in life sciences, business or related discipline
- Minimum of 2 years of life sciences consulting or pharma/biotech industry experience
- Industry experience (pricing, forecasting, more general commercial strategy) or managed care/reimbursement policy consulting or related experience (strategy consulting to healthcare industry, market research) that supplements an advance degree
- An understanding of pharmaceutical pricing and reimbursement systems
- Demonstrated knowledge of pricing and reimbursement content, issues, and methodologies
- Demonstrated excellence in clarity and completeness in oral, written and presentation skills
- Demonstrated skills in coaching and development of staff
- Demonstrated skills in client communications
- Able to manage 2-3 projects simultaneously
- An understanding of pharmaceutical pricing and reimbursement systems in target geography
- Due to the nature of this position, it may be required for the employee to travel. Therefore, dependent on the employee’s location, the employee may be required to possess valid Driver’s license and be able to commit to an approx. 20% of domestic and international travel
