Contracts Manager (Client Contracts)

 

Location: Dublin / Home Based

The successful candidate will effectively manage contracts personnel related to any and all activities to client/sponsor contracts and change orders for newly awarded and on-going projects. Role responsibilities include:
As a Manager, the employee is expected to recognise the importance of and create a culture of process improvement with a focus on streamlining our processes adding value to our business and exceeding client needs 
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships
  • Coordinate and negotiate contracts and change orders for newly awarded and on-going projects at ICON on an as needed basis
  • Provide comprehensive QC review of contracts and change orders (including budgets) to identify potential issues/concerns and to ensure high quality and accuracy (error free) prior to client submission
  • Ensure that contracts / change order timelines are consistently and proactively managed
  • Report current status and potential issues/concerns to senior contracts management related to contracts and change orders
  • Provide recommendations related to process improvements and training to the contracts management team
Supervision:
  • Manage a team of contracts analysts and associates, setting clear goals and objectives.
  • Develop supporting staff skills, encourage growth and provide regular performance feedback.
  • Provide mentoring and/or training to direct reports and/or contracts personnel which may include presentations related to topics selected by the contracts management team.
Experience & Knowledge Requirements:
  • Prior relevant clinical research industry experience with a minimum of 5 years of experience in proposal development, contract management, or clinical research related.
  • In depth proven experience in proposal development, contract management or industry related.
  • Indepth knowledge of all CRO service divisions, associated costs and cost drivers
  • Prior relevant personnel management experience desirable.
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrate ability to be a high achiever and function in a high paced, dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrate ability to follow directions (often complex) well.
  • Demonstrate ability to work under pressure and/or tight timelines to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written), organization, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office package.
Due to the nature of this position it may be required for the employee to travel.  Therefore, dependent on the employee’s location, the employee may be required to possess a valid drivers license.

 
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree or local equivalent
  • Postgraduate qualification an advantage
