Divisional Principal Health Technology Assessment and Value Communication

(HTA&VC)

Location: Ireland/UK

Remote or office based

Position Overview

This is a leadership role within ICONs Insights Evidence and Value (IEV) consultancy group. As Divisional Principal you will have full P&L responsibility for your division and be responsible for devising and implementing the strategic vision to build the business. You will manage a diverse team across multiple countries and aspire to continually grow the geographic footprint and expertise within the division. You will work cross functionally and collaboratively with the other divisions, portraying a one- IEV mindset.

Key elements of the role include

  • Team Leadership
  • Full P&L responsibility for the HTA&VC division
  • Business Development activities to build and enhance client relationships
  • Identifying and winning new projects
  • Developing compelling proposals and actionable insights, in response to requests and through strategic advice to clients
  • Delivery of projects to expected timelines, quality, and price
  • Generation  and  publication  of  thought  leadership  materials  (e.g.,  conferences, webinars, whitepapers, etc.

This is a senior leadership role which requires experience of managing a division to ensure both successful divisional financial performance and to ensure deliver to a high standard of multiple HTA& VC projects, including:

  • Developing a divisional strategy for all aspects of HTA&VC external marketing and value proposition execution (i.e., thought leadership development, conference participation, webinars, whitepapers, etc.)
  • Delivering annual revenue and profitability targets
  • Oversight of the delivery of varying projects such as HTA submissions, Global Value Dossier development, Landscape assessments and Early Scientific Advice engagement across multiple markets
  • Work with the ICON business development and the Engagement Team to identify target customers and support business development activities by providing the necessary scientific expertise in client engagements.
  • Supports the client engagement team in client pitches, capabilities presentations and other
  • meetings
  • Acts as scientific thought partner with the client and the project team throughout projects
  • Ensures credible, actionable high impact recommendations in deliverables, reflecting insights into client needs
  • Works cross-functionally within the Insights, Evidence and Value team and across ICON
  • Leads discussions with external stakeholders (payers, high-level KOLs, high-level industry experts) for client deliverables
  • Achievement of high-level of client satisfaction and repeat engagements
  • Provide mentoring and supervision to all members of the team
  • Responsible for the development and the driving of continuous improvement initiatives
  • Organizes and monitors workloads in line with budget and time to ensure project efficiency and quality of insight
  • Acts in a strategic advisory capacity, to effectively manage and mitigate complex risk issues across multiple projects, service lines, and functions.
  • Leads complex risk identification, on large global projects or across multiple programmes of work; planning for internal and external risks prior to and post implementation

To be successful in this role you will need to be able to demonstrate:

  • A track record of successful managing teams in the delivery of market access projects (of at least 10+ years), either working as a consultant or within a biopharmaceutical setting
  • Experience managing a diverse team situated in multiple markets across the globe with a mix of office based and remote based employees.
  • The business acumen to manage and grown a P&L
  • An excellent knowledge of UK, EU and other key global healthcare systems, Health Technology
  • Assessment, and reimbursement processes
  • Existing network within Health Authorities in countries such as UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Canada.
  • The flexibility to work across several therapeutic areas
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills, including experience in creating slide decks
  • Ability to work independently and as part of global cross-functional team environment
  • Ability and willingness to travel
  • Demonstrable experience of business development and client satisfaction
  • Masters degree in a relevant discipline preferred
