Summary:
·         The Learning Designer will design novel content and engaging social learning experiences to enable global communities of learners and expert practitioners across ICON PLC.
·         Working in Learning Solutions and under the lead of the Learning Design Manager, you will work closely with Subject Matter Experts, Learning and Development specialists in ICON University and team mates in to produce relevant, purposeful and engaging experiences.
·         You will be creative and curious; looking to improve your own skills and remain up-to-date with the industry. You will bring creative flair and modern design sensibilities.
·         You will solve complex learning problems and take a new perspective on existing solutions to bring new ideas to digital learning at ICON.
·         You will be a confident consultant who builds great relationships with SMEs and stakeholders, balancing their expertise and needs with solid learning theory and best practice to provide the best possible online service to ICON.
 
Experience Required:
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Minimum of five years’ experience in the design of learning solutions for a range of contexts and audiences / customers and across a range of media and methods (e.g. Online learning/E-Learning, classroom, blended, social and self-directed) and an insight into the affordances of each
  • Evidenced experience in implementing the ADDIE model, adult learning theories, and other popular Instructional Design theories
  • Excellent writing, editing and layout skills used to compose a range of materials (e.g. instructional text, storyboards, etc.) in a variety of contexts and tones
  • Evidenced ability to apply theory to design and develop engaging and effective products to meet the needs of the customer and the business
  • Evidenced experience of design at the levels of curriculum, programme, course and activity
  • Experience of translating classroom courses into the digital space
  • Evidenced up-to-date knowledge of digital learning and an understanding of related disciplines
  • Applied understanding of modern design principles with a clear storytelling sensibility
  • An understanding and ability to apply usability and user experience principles is an advantage
  • Deep understanding of a broad range learning design methods, evidenced learning theory and established practice
  • Familiarity with authoring tools such as Camtasia, Captivate, Articulate, and the Adapt Framework
  • Understanding of common standards and formats (e.g. HTML, CSS, SCORM, etc.)
  • Awareness of mobile and responsive design (e.g. HTML5 and Bootstrap)
  • Some project management experience evidenced by an ability to manage own work and deliveries
