- As a Manager, the employee is expected to recognize the importance of and create a culture of process improvement with a focus on streamlining our processes adding value to our business and meeting client needs.
- Travel (approximately 5%) domestic and/or international
- May include working with biological fluids and adhering to laboratory safety regulations as assigned
- Comprehends and complies with GCP/ICH regulations and SOPs which apply to the CPU
- Complies with all safety plans and regulations
- Organizes and hosts new Employee Orientation
- Create and/or review training materials to include SOPs, Training Manuals, Study Specific Training, etc.
- Manage training activities for temporary staff, to include, developing learning plans in accordance with ICON SOPs, maintaining training files, conduct training, as appropriate, ensure project specific training and delegation of authority documentation is complete PRIOR to the conduct of the clinic trial activities
- Participate in the interview process for temporary employees
- Verify hiring paperwork is completed with Department Manager and Human Resource Department (CV, Job Descriptions, licensure, regulatory checks, license checks, etc.)
- Assist department managers with the development of Learning Plans for the CPU
- Responsible for the maintenance of training files for all CPU staff, focusing on temporary staff
- Primary liaison with ICON Corporate Training Department (CTD) to ensure CPU staff is set up in ICON learning management system and develop a program so all CPU training, including competency training is captured in iLearn
- Create a well-documented process for hiring and training PRN staff in a cost and time efficient manner
- Act as primary coordinator for the CV repository to include licensure for all CPU staff.
- Responsible for providing required documentation of staff training for Regulatory, sponsor and internal audits as needed.
- To assist in operational activities in CPU as needed.
- To represent the department at meetings.
- Any other duties as assigned commensurate with skills and qualifications and appropriate to the role.
- To manage and develop the Training and Development team in San Antonio.
- Set clear goals and objectives for staff.
- Indirectly supervise Temporary staff through the new hire training.
- At minimum, an Associates or Bachelor’s degree.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in clinical research or hospital-like environment.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a training position.
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements for clinical trials.
- A minimum of 2 years of proven experience in management/supervision of others.
- Able to handle several ongoing projects at one time.
- Ability to effectively give and receive instructions and communicate in oral and written form.
