Research Analyst Market Research & Data Analytics


The Research Analyst will be responsible for taking personal ownership for project delivery and quality, assisting in client-sponsored projects and supporting company initiatives.  They are responsible for successfully meeting project timing and the quality of deliverables.

The Research Analyst participates in the development and implementation of primary and secondary research tools including but not limited to the creation of qualitative research discussion guides, quantitative research questionnaires, data collection, analysis and distillation of data from these tools. Secondary research will be conducted using various databases and data sets from a variety of sources used to assess real world markets, product use and customer policies. All data from these processes will need to be distilled down into actionable and relevant data typically transferred to PowerPoint slides. The Analyst / Senior Analyst will participate in this work in a collaborative manner and be accountable for managing the project and process in workzone or other ICON systems. Additional work may include supportive efforts for advisory boards, and ad hoc supportive work for other practices. Outputs from this work are the final deliverables to our customer base. This position will have high visibility to both internal and external customers.

Job Function/Responsibilities

·         Some travel may be required (approximately <15% domestic and / or international)

Project Delivery

·         Client interface for project specifications, deliver, and communications on project status obtaining input and review/approval of materials and deliverables and acquisition of client-owned data files

·         Preparation of client material such as kick-off meetings and presentation of results

·         Primary role in developing primary research tools, data cleaning and preparation, analysis and reporting

·         Primary role in analytics projects including data integration and processing, business rules, analysis and reporting

·         Provide input in to client recommendations and participate in the synthesis of final deliverables

·         Maintains consistent and effective team communication

·         Obtain senior input and guidance proactively and efficiently maintains consistent and effective team communication

·         Understanding and effective application of appropriate research and statistical methods and techniques

·         Effective time management

·         Responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant SOPs, policies and procedures

Business Development

·         Assist with development of proposals particularly in the approach and methodology

Staff Development

·         Support training of new team members

·                Share knowledge and develop presentations and for in internal informal training sessions and presentations

ICO Development

·         Provides feedback and ideas for ICO process improvements

·         Responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant standard operating procedures (SOPs), policies and procedures

Experience, Skills, Knowledge Requirements

o    Industry experience in  primary market research, market analytics, market insights, multichannel marketing, forecasting, predictive modeling

o    Prior experience and working knowledge of available healthcare data sources including formulary access and volume

o    Experience with qualitative and quantitative research methodologies

o    Experience with statistics and statistical software (e.g. SPSS, SAS, R)

o    Demonstrated excellence in the quality of deliverables

o    Demonstrated excellence in clarity and completeness or oral, written and presentation skills

o    Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously

·         Beneficial skills and knowledge

o    Advanced statistics or research methods

o    Industry knowledge in managed care, pharmaceutical manufacturing, access and reimbursement

o    An understanding of managed care and the payer hierarchy

Education

Undergraduate or graduate degree
