Director– Scientific Outreach
Are you a senior scientific manager with experience in Clinical Research?
Are you able comfortable working with technical and scientific experts both internally and externally?
Based in Dublin ,Ireland, ICON Central Laboratories is dedicated exclusively to central laboratory testing and the associated services for clinical trials.
ICON's global network of fully accredited laboratory facilities in the US, Ireland, Singapore, India and China operate with state of the art instrumentation, coupled with identical analytical platforms, SOPs, QC materials & reagents to support large global studies. Since our inception in the early 1990s, we have successfully managed the laboratory, investigator and logistical support requirements for thousands of clients in virtually every phase and therapeutic area of clinical development.
The Director, Scientific Outreach will be responsible for raising ICON Central Laboratories’ profile in specific therapeutic areas in the wider clinical research arena. This includes:
· presenting and/or coordinating presentations via webinars and conferences
· Facilitating the publication of papers in peer reviewed journals
· Liaising with scientific staff within ICL and key sponsor organisations.
This role will be responsible for defining and driving a process to identify, research and qualify new leads/opportunities via sponsor pipelines, publications, conferences and other routes, for triage to Business Development Executives (BDEs). The Scientific Outreach Officer will monitor, collate and disseminate key account news updates, as well as provide business intelligence and scientific input for proposals, bid defences and key client support meetings. In addition, the Scientific Outreach Director will assist with training of the BDE team, as well as the creation of promotional scientific material.
Sucessful candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to lead teams towards achieving goals that support ICL’s key strategic accounts and be comfortable working both internally and externally with technical and scientific experts. Communication skills will be key, as much of this role will be client facing.
