General Summary
Provides functional leadership to direct reports including hiring, training, staff assignments, performance management, professional development
and coaching . Provides leadership, direction and high-level expertise in the implementation of business processes and quality initiatives in
accordance with corporate and departmental goals and appropriate governance policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. Achieves
goals and objectives within the framework of the company mission, policy and philosophy
Primary Responsibilities
- Coordinates activities and personnel and properly allocates resources.
- Contributes to resource projections and assigns staff resources to ensure project teams are consistent with client needs, expectations, and contractual obligations.
- Reviews project tasks and timelines and works with the project teams to ensure clinical system development activities are executed in a high-quality, timely manner.
Responsibilities:
- Recommends and implements clinical system development performance and productivity improvements to ensure optimal utilization of billable staff.
- Participates in development initiatives, including presentations and proposal development.
- Plans and implements objectives for direct reports.
- Represents the department on company, division, or department-level process improvement initiatives.
- Provides expertise on clinical system development and escalation support, for issue resolution and contingency planning.
- Participates in internal/external audits and regulatory agency inspections as required.
- Responsible for recruitment activities such as reviewing CVs, candidate interviews, candidate selection process and onboarding new hires
- Strong knowledge of the design and development of company’s preferred system solutions
- Strong knowledge of clinical research guidance, including Food and Drug Administration (FDA), international regulatory agencies, international conference on harmonization (ICH), and good clinical practice (GCP)
- Good people management skills including coaching, interviewing, and Manager, Clinical Systems Senior Manager, Clinical Systems Associate Director, Clinical Systems Director, Clinical Systems Senior Director, Clinical Systems Executive Director, Clinical Systems providing feedback and recognition
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Good ability to manage technical staff and enhance individual performance; Develops and mentors clinical systems development staff to ensure high-quality work performance
To be successful in the role, you will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in a health or IT-related field*
- 10 years of relevant experience including 2 years in a leadership capacity.
- Minimum of 5 years of CRO experience is required.
- Budget and bid defense experience is required.
- Strong customer relationship management skills are required. Must have experience in a client-facing role working directly with sponsor.
- Effective communication and presentation skills are required.
- Experience managing a remote team who are manager level employees is desired.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
- Strong knowledge of Rave, Veeva CDMS, or other mainstream EDC systems.
