The Role:
Symphony Health, part of the ICON plc family, is a team of curious thinkers and intellectual problem solvers driving the healthcare data industry forward. We leverage our large, integrated healthcare data repository and our analytic expertise to build customized, agile data solutions which answer the questions our clients -- life science manufacturers, payers, and providers -- have today, as well as those they’ll have tomorrow. Together, we can help patients get the right drugs at the right times.
The Senior Principal role has primary responsibility for consulting with customers and salespeople to drive new business development of enterprise technology solutions to commercial organizations in the Life Science industry. Solutions are an amalgamation of data warehousing, patient tokenization, patient data integration, business intelligence, and master data management from the Technology Solutions practice area. The ability to include other complimentary Symphony consulting and data service capabilities to create a comprehensive end-to-end solution is required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Consults with customers and salespeople to drive new business development to meet quarterly and annual sales goals. Meets with clients when called in by a National Account Director (NAD) to discuss, document, and fully understand specific needs identified by the NAD; determine if a standard product will meet the client needs or if a customized solution is required.
Develops a technology centered approach to meet client objectives, including design and documentation, if a customized deliverable is required; effectively articulates the business value of proposed deliverable/solution through a formal client presentation and addressing objections.
Leads new customer projects to ensure quality and timing of results by participating in the project kick-off and status meetings; ensuring a smooth transition to the Engagement Manager; provides consultation and leadership to the Engagement Manager and Consultants to ensure design, fulfillment, and execution of projects; presenting the final work product to the customer upon completion.
Serves as the subject matter expert on enterprise technology solutions (e.g., data warehousing, patient tokenization, data integration, business intelligence, and master data management) to the customers Commercial team, to sales and other areas in the organization by educating internal resources on appropriate client-focused solutions.
Provides informal training of other relevant Symphony personnel as part of normal course of business to ensure knowledge is shared and disseminated into the organization.
Contributes to new product development for enterprise technology solutions that meets customer needs by identifying gaps in current offerings. Drives innovation through custom engagements with client including new product concepts and context solutions. Works with product managers and business unit team to translate unmet client requirements into business and functional specifications; participating in product design discussions and evaluating prototypes.
Develops and maintains expert level knowledge of the enterprise technology solution practice area by staying up-to-date with client business needs and technology solutions options.
What do you have?
Expert level knowledge of the healthcare technology supporting commercial operations, sales process, and activities.
Demonstrated ability to exceed sales goals.
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Strong knowledge of business intelligence (e.g. Qlik, Tableau), Cloud (e.g. AWS, Azure), data management (e.g. ETL, Redshift, Snowflake), Patient Tokenization, and MDM (e.g. Reltio, Informatica).
Good knowledge of commercial regulatory issues including PRDP, PDMA and Aggregate Spend.
Strong communication skills, including written and oral communication.
Customer focused approach.
Ability to work as part of a collaborative team.
Demonstrated ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
Ability to review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
Knowledge of product commercialization business models.
Travel Requirements:
Candidate must be located in the Eastern half of the U.S and able to travel 40% to 60%.
