The Engagement Consultant is an exciting opportunity to join The Symphony Consulting practice. The Symphony Consulting practice works with pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients to address a wide range of business issues including market analyses, strategy development and business planning.

Projects include: portfolio/franchise/brand strategy, new product planning, pricing and reimbursement strategies; life cycle management; resource allocation and promotional effectiveness/media.

What will you do?

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for engagement, delivery quality and customer satisfaction by structuring and managing engagement from inception to completion

  • Demonstrates excellent executive poise, presence, and relevance to executive leadership, up to the levels of CxO, at the world's premier Pharmaceutical and Healthcare companies

  • Application of strategy and consulting best practices

  • Primary focus on solving strategic and tactical sales and marketing issues across life science, biotechnology, and healthcare industries (including familiarity with leveraging Payers, Provider and Patient data as applied to one or more aspects of Commercial Effectiveness including Sales Force Optimization, Marketing Promotional Effectiveness, Managed Markets or Patient Centric Analytics)

  • Knowledge of advanced analytics and market research and ability to blend consulting, analytics and technology to help healthcare and pharma companies improve the ROI of their sales and marketing

  • Working in highly collaborative environment with other internal business units and using Symphony Health proprietary data and methodologies for custom analytics and as need (key areas of internal interface include Technology, Business Development, Client Solutions Teams and other Practice areas)

Detailed Duties

  • Responsibilities are broadly defined and are expected to increase as quickly as aptitude is demonstrated

  • Leverage analytical, creative and interpersonal skills to delivery strategic consulting services

  • Lead cross-functional project teams that deliver high-quality marketing and sales strategy projects to clients * Interpret and processes quantitative research and unstructured problem solving skills and/or advanced quantitative analytics skills

  • Ability to assume complete ownership of significant projects while at the same time being a part of and leading a close knit team is essential

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously; consultants must organize own tasks and schedules in carrying out substantial business analyses and delivering high quality, client-ready work

  • Demonstrate considerable poise and business maturity to perform effectively and add value in the client environment, as our clients are often large, complex systems

  • Responsible for deriving insight from the analyses of complex data sates and development of a compelling and persuasive storyline and strategic recommendations for senior management

  • Responsible for leading client presentations and post-delivery follow ups to ensure client satisfaction Client Management

  • Managing internal stakeholders involved in executing/delivering project work

  • Work at all levels and across all client functions

  • Contribute to new business development and strengthening of client base

  • Manage presentations and proposal preparation process

  • Relationship management with clients purchasing large and recurring services Consulting and Innovation

  • Demonstrate a high level of ability to think strategically and lead initiatives to increase awareness and build credibility

  • Strong analytical skills to strategically address the full range of client issues towards commercial and marketing effectiveness

  • Contribute to innovation efforts across solutions that enhance the efficiency, client experience and overall engagement Project Management

  • Manage multiple consulting projects of varying complexity and multiple internal/external stakeholders

  • Ensure on-time and on-budget delivery for clients

  • Exhibit Leverage internal project management tools to assess project profitability Operational

  • Establish processes to support timely and delivery operational excellence

  • Validate scope, conduct project kickoff and satisfaction discussion with stakeholders

  • Review client deliverables to ensure they meet all client acceptance criteria

  • Support the development of client proposal Organization

  • Lead, mentor and "grow" the individuals within the Consulting Analytics team

  • Develop strong, positive cross organization relationships with internal groups and ensure collaboration with all functions in the organization

What do you have?

  • Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences, Engineering (Biomedical or other focus), Business Analytics, Business Management, Economics, or related field; MBA or other healthcare-related graduate degree preferred

  • 6+ years relevant experience from the Life Science industry

  • Strong understanding of secondary data sets and analytics

  • Pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical marketing or market research experience desirable

  • Industry relevant consulting experience is preferred

  • Strong knowledge and application of pharmaceutical research resources

  • Familiarity working with/across the range of Commercial Pharma stakeholders

  • Understanding of market/financial analysis in context of life sciences business needs

  • Strong understanding and ability to develop and interpret quantitative models

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to deliver on deadlines

  • Highly analytical and strategic problem solver

  • Ability to adapt and learn quickly *Demonstrated proficiency in storytelling and creating compelling visuals for project delivery

  • Ability to assume ownership of significant portions of tasks while at the same time being a part of and/or leading a close-knit team *Strong project management, time management and organizational skills

  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, such as Excel and PowerPoint (SQL is a plus)

  • Based in the US or Canada; able to work remotely from home
