Summary:
Respond (in writing and/or verbally) and manage Medical Information inquiries from external Health Care Professionals for the Sponsor portfolio. Performs medical accuracy review of Promotional Materials containing medical content for assigned products as needed. Periodically handles inquiries off-hours (emergency calls) and provides clinical booth support at medical conferences.
Responsibilities:
- Respond to verbal and written medical inquiries from internal and external customers related to later-stage, post-launch products
- Medical inquiry management related to backlog of inquiries for any product as needed
- Adverse event reporting.
- Research, evaluate and summarize the published medical and scientific literature for assigned products.
- Review existing standard medical response letters and revises or develops new letters as needed. Proactively develop medical response documents.
- Perform medical accuracy review of promotional materials containing medical content for later-stage, post-launch products.
- Periodically handle inquiries off-hours (emergency calls) and may provide clinical booth support at medical conferences.
- Develop medical communication documents for internal contacts when needed in times of overflow or new product launch preparation.
- Work closely with other Medical Affairs departments to ensure successful completion of shared activities.
- Escalate concerns or issues related to departmental processes or specific communications.
- Recommend process improvements that can help reduce cycle times, improve quality or increase productivity.
- May directly manage Medical Information employees. Responsibilities include hiring, performance management and career development.
Job Functions (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
- Good working knowledge of appropriate medical information guidelines/regulations
- Collects and analyzes information from a variety of sources.
- Application of knowledge and skills will result in the delivery of projects on-time and on budget
- Experience with entering data into databases, performing medical literature searches, and critically evaluating medical literature
- Effective verbal & written communication skills, familiar with MS Office Suite and videoconferencing.
- Strong medical writing skills required.
- Demonstrated cross- functional management skills.
- Excellent organization & multitasking skills
Qualifications:
- BS degree in Life Sciences or related field (required)
- Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (preferred)
- 8+ years’ relevant experience, related field including at least 1-2 years of experience in a Medical Information role
