On Call Pathologist

Location: Portland, OR

Overview of the Role

• Final quality control review on designated patient reports
• Review and marking of histology slides for downstream molecular analysis
• Review and interpretation of designated immunohistochemical slides
• Being accessible to the laboratory to provide onsite, telephone, or electronic consultation as needed
• Diagnose surgical biopsy specimens, microscopically and correlate with clinical findings as needed
• Gross specimens or oversee the grossing of specimens
• Handle different subspecialty specimens
• Keep up to date with current literature and research
• Correlate special stains and immunohistochemistry in the final diagnosis or interpret as required
• Provide over site to the histology staff and provide feedback for quality improvement
• Other duties as assigned

Role Requirements

• You will have a minimum of 5 years' experience working as a pathologist.
• You will have the ability to work on call 1-2 days a week on site in Portland.
