Senior Designer

The Senior Designer duties are to design and produce creative materials consistent with marketing and Company objectives, including educational program strategy. The incumbent designs and produces art and copy layouts for multimedia/interactive product and/or presentation, typically for a specified account base leading to high levels of client satisfaction and achievement of department objectives. The incumbent provides guidance and necessary or required art critique to Designers or other creative services personnel as necessary.

Responsibilities:

• Strategizes design approach for various projects and their respective audiences.
• Designs and produces layout of illustrations, graphs, tables and text for manuscript, monograph and newsletter publications.
• Designs and produces program materials, including packaging, workbooks, folders, name badges, and posters.
• Develops creative concept and design for educational programs, including live events, newsletters, monographs, and websites (for review with departmental management).
• Creates slide templates and graphic solutions for educational slide kits (PowerPoint); formats slide decks with precision and consistency.
• Produces pre-press-ready electronic page files Design, or similar software.
• Updates pre-existing materials to align with current products.
• Designs and packages ad-hoc communications for print and online needs.
• Directs internal service teams to define layout of program and product elements, strategy for client communication needs to the market and translate written text into visual story.
• Maintains appropriate documentation tracking project development and changing specifications.
• Leads and participates in design critiques and is accountable for follow-through on decisions.
• Uses the time reporting system; signing and reporting all exception time on a weekly basis.
• Completes other administrative tasks, such as travel and expense reporting or similar, in a timely manner.
• Performs responsibilities in a professional manner, meeting the Company’s mission and goals 

To Succeed You Will Need:

• Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. Preferably with an art or art related degree;
• Two (2) or more years related experience and/or training in graphic design/artist environments; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
• Video editing and production as well as other interactive multimedia platform experience desirable.
• Working knowledge of style sheets and quick key commands required.
• Possession of expertise in color proofing and printing processes in all electronic publishing workflow(s) required.
• Ability to multi-task and work effectively in cross-functional teams required.
• Working understanding of business unit related regulations, such as ACCME or FDA or similar guidelines, helpful.
• Given the nature of the work, you will at times be asked to be flexible and to offer extended support outside of your normal working hours to meet the business needs. This may also include weekend work and travel.
