Overview of the Role:
The Senior Manager, Clinical Data Science ensures department, program, and study level goals and objectives are consistently met to the highest standard of quality. They ensure team deliverables consistently meet study timelines, quality standards, and contractual requirements. The Senior Manager will implement effective tracking and reporting to monitor staff workload, optimize staff utilization, and provide technical and managerial leadership, including mentorship and training of direct reports. They will delegate responsibilities appropriately with the target of continuously developing team capabilities.
- Translates strategic objectives into operational goals and leads resources to achieve operational and strategic plans
- May participate in internal/external audits and regulatory agency inspections
- Supports recruitment
- May have oversight of a small number of clients, builds and maintains customer relationships
- Attends bid defences as a representative of the function when requested / support proposal development
- Focus on staff utilisation and key deliverables working across the department
- Travel (approximately 10%) domestic and/or international, when or if required.
To be successful, you will need:
- 10+ years of clinical data management experience preferably in a CRO or pharmaceutical setting
- Strong leadership skills including change management, people development, strategic thinking, and influencing
- A proven track record of managing high performing teams
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Proven leadership skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a changeable environment
- Ability to handle short deadlines and key priorities on an ongoing basis
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Bachelor’s degree, or local equivalent, in information systems, science or related discipline
