This is an exciting opportunity for an Associate Epidemiologist that’s seeking to work in the Clinical Research Industry.  Learn more about how you can be a part of the Epidemiology team that offers services supporting global clinical and outcomes research initiatives. 

We are currently seeking an Associate epidemiologist to join our team within the Epidemiology Practice, based out of Vancouver.

About the Associate Epidemiologist role within ICON: 

The epidemiology team works on a range of disease areas and study designs. We undertake studies to estimate region-specific incidence, prevalence morbidity, mortality and natural history of target conditions.   We use a variety of study designs to obtain these estimates, including prospective and retrospective data collection; and analysis of clinical and administrative databases.  Additional services offered by the epidemiology department include infectious disease modeling, risk-benefit modeling, strategic consultation and trial design, systematic reviews and meta-analysis, and treatment parameterization. 

At ICON we pride ourselves on advancing the science/consultancy interface; we have a strong reputation and publication record for observational, interventional and modeling studies in a wide variety of clinical areas and where appropriate we seek to increase the credibility of our work through peer-reviewed publication.

Bachelor of Science degree with basic knowledge of disease processes

Excellent organizational skills including written and verbal communication

Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task efficiently

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and Word

Familiarity with a reference manager

Excellent oral and written communication skills, coupled with strong interpersonal skills

Additional preferred qualifications:

A strong desire to learn and gain a deep understanding of the work of the department

The ability to work effectively as part of a team

Self-motivation

Flexibility and a willingness to respond to the needs of the department

An interest in health care decision making
