About the Director, Data Management at ICON:

ICON is seeking a Director, Data Management to provide supervision to a group or Managers and operational Data Management team members. This key strategic role will also play a pivotal part of the DM leadership team and will be accountable for driving global roadmap and strategy for the department. This role will report into the regional lead and Sr Director for Europe. You will have key responsibilities including client relationship management, study oversight, line management, project deliver along with supporting the teams quality plan and business development activities.

Direct the day-to-day activities and task management to ensure a focus on quality, budget and timelines. Mentor Data Management managers, project managers, and leaders. Overview the planning, acquisition, and implementation of systems to meet the Biometrics needs of the organization. In performing these tasks, particular emphasis is placed on the selection of cost effective technologies to meet corporate and industry requirements and goals.

Review and monitor the preparation of the overall department budgets, by evaluating cost control, timelines and project quality status. Liaise with sponsors on project related matters, where appropriate. Keep senior management informed of departmental and project status in relation to resources, financial information, quality and timelines.

To succeed you will need:

The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor degree or local equivalent in life sciences or appropriate field with 10+ years clinical data management experience. A minimum of 5 years supervisory experience including project management, resource planning, staff recruitment, performance evaluations, career development and training. Appropriate experience and understanding of at least one clinical data management system (e.g. RAVE, INFORM). We are seeking someone who is an active participant in industry seminars internally and externally (eg: SCDM, Transcelerate etc).
