The Research Consultant is a research associate and key participant in client engagements. The Research Consultant is primarily responsible for assisting the Consulting teams prepare for client engagement by doing preliminary and ongoing research around a client’s market of interest and deliverable for those proposed engagements that result in a sale. This position is responsible for developing project specifications around market definitions, business rules, implementation of standard deliverables and helping to manage project timelines as needed for the Engagement Consultant (EC). They will also provide support for client inquiries related to both one time and ongoing deliveries, either through their own research and analysis or by facilitating research and analysis performed by the analytics group. This role will work under the guidance of Engagement Consultants and Strategic consultants for assigned projects / engagements. The Research Consultant position will be responsible for the creation of basic presentations in PPT and with the guidance of the Strategic consultants and Engagement Consultants will create the initial draft of many standard deliverables.
What will you do?
This position is responsible for the following
Provide ongoing support to Principals and Strategic Consultants for potential new projects through sales support and research activities
Preliminary market research including therapeutic areas or disease areas of interest, where client is in product lifecycle and ultimately providing counts as needed for products of interest
As projects are sold, The RC I will engage with the EC to ensure that market definitions are complete, historical data and business rule are accurate and in line with SOW
For common/standard deliverable, the RC I will manage the methodology document and ensure that the document is up to date and reflective of client’s requirement and the final project output. The candidate will work with the analyst team and be responsible for initial project build, project tracking and evaluating project quality upon successful completion by the analyst. The candidate will also add additional insights to the deliverable.
With the assistance of the EC, will investigate moderate to simple data inquiry investigations for our common data sets
Responsible to work with EC to ensure documentation is complete for all projects
Work collaboratively with colleagues both in and outside of consulting to determine project plan, to resolve issues and meet the client’s objectives
Monitor and alert the appropriate stakeholders when an assigned project is delayed.
What do you have?
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent.
No experience if candidate holds Master’s degree
1 to 2 years relevant experience in healthcare/life sciences industry
General Skills:
Microsoft Office suite proficiency (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Ability to work within aggressive deadlines and competing priorities
Ability to work on multiple complex client projects, including the ability to make decisions and recommendations to other project team members regarding client management and project deliverables
Ability to lead client projects across the spectrum of Consulting PHORCE offerings, including setting a project schedule, conducting internal and external kick off meeting(s) and managing delivery.
Collaborative management style and ability to work across functional lines to achieve project objectives
SQL or SAS programming experience would be preferred.
Data Analysis Skills
Create and review analytic and data requirements for assigned projects including the skills necessary to teach or guide others
Data analysis skills with the ability to identify key trends and findings based upon client’s objectives as it relates to analytical deliverables
